For the American Christian (especially for those who were born during the 50’s & 60’s), America has proven to be a cornucopia of prosperity, freedom and religious liberty. We have been able to travel over thousands of miles of beautiful highways, ski on snow-covered mountains in the winter time and swim in beautiful lakes during the summer. We’ve been able to enjoy every conceivable pleasure and recreation that a nation could possibly provide its citizens. And, unlike many countries in the world, we’ve also had the freedom to explore any form of Christian expression we chose to without hindrance from government intervention.

America’s blessings have truly been so abundant, that it’s obvious that God our Father has made His “rain to fall upon the just and unjust alike”! In fact, America’s God-given prosperity since World War II has literally transformed the entire world.

But beginning in the 90’s (and continuing particularly after 9/11/01), America began to witness the growing wounds of a political and global infection of Satanic agendas designed to ultimately lead to a One World Government (now commonly known as “The Great Reset”).

To those who have been paying attention over the decades, this has not come as a surprise, but rather as a fulfillment of prophecy made thousands of years ago by the prophets of the Old Testament and the apostles of the New.

However, in the midst of all these happenings, Christians have maintained a hope which extends far beyond that which they have perceived with their eyes and ears.

Like Abraham (from whose Seed we are all justified by faith), we may “see through a glass darkly” at this point in time, but our hearts our firmly fixed on that which is to come.

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” (Galatians 3:6)

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” (Hebrews 11:8)

It’s interesting that Abraham began his journey of faith as a result of a direct command from God to leave the very country in which he dwelt.

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation(Genesis 12:1-3)

“So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him” (Genesis 12:4)

Amazing! God spoke and Abraham obeyed … opening the door for his future Seed (Christ) to become:

“… the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him” (Hebrews 5:9)

As great as America has been (and could be), we have been called out (like Abraham) to sojourn towards another country, even as Abraham…

“…sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:9-10)

And those heirs with Abraham also included us, being yet unborn, but carried within his loins:

“…that they without us should not be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:40)

Those who sojourned with Abraham (along with many other Old Testament men and women)

“… all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” (Hebrews 11:13)

“For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.” (Hebrews 11:14-15)

“But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” (Hebrews 11:16)

Our “country” is NOT an earthly one, but rather a heavenly one as confirmed by the Word of God! Should we not then seek after that country with all of our hearts?

Our American country … which was founded upon the ideals of men and built by the industrious hands of those who have gone before us … is not the country which God has prepared for us.

“For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.” (Hebrews 3:4)

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)

If our personal house is eternal in the heavens, how much more is our country?

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesian 2:19-20)

“In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:21-22)

We are indeed the citizens of a heavenly Kingdom whose Maker and Founder is God alone!

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9)

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12)

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13)
