That’s the question that many are asking concerning the recent inauguration in America of a socialist politician over the champion of human rights and Christian values.
There has never been such an outpouring of intense prayer and intercession worldwide than has been undertaken in 2020 concerning the re-election of President Trump against Joe Biden. The outcome of this election was so vital, that now it will affect the very direction of future events on planet Earth … and not in a good way.
But none of what has transpired has taken God the Father by surprise or caught Him “sleeping at the wheel”. Nothing God does is by “accident”. He has everything planned and timed right down to the “last wave of the brakeman’s hand on the last train out of town”!
There’s an old saying: “It’s not over until the Fat Lady sings!”
Well, she sang on January 20th… only she wasn’t fat, and she didn’t sing the Star Spangled Banner with a pure heart towards God and country. It was a corrupted, Hollywood version wrapped up in the worship of a sex goddess celebrity!
Many Christians now, their faith possibly shaken, are asking God: “Why, Lord?”
Well, first of all, we must not approach that question with an accusing attitude of fear and doubt, as though God’s actions should be “critiqued” by us. As the scripture declares:
“Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker … Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou?” (Isaiah 45:9)
But rather, we should approach God with an attitude of confidence and faith in order that His actions might be “understood”.
We can begin with the firm knowledge and scriptural agreement that it is God alone who places men in power … not the devil (though Satan may think otherwise).
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Romans 13:1)
“The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up … for by strength shall no man prevail.” (1 Samuel 2:7,9)
“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7)
Many Christians have likened former President Trump to Cyrus. It’s interesting that the Lord is speaking to Cyrus in this very same chapter of Isaiah. And it’s difficult not to see the similarities:
“Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron … that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel … there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me.” (Isaiah 45:5)
And why did God raise up Cyrus?
“That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:6)
Never before has the modern world witnessed the hand of the Lord move in such a mighty and mystifying way as they beheld President Trump (a businessman who was never involved in politics) make peace in the Middle East, recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, stand up against communist China, protect the borders of America, restore financial stability and many other things that the Satanic forces in Washington, D.C. tried to thwart and destroy … all without success! And God strengthened President Trump to accomplish all of these things even while he battled the devilish forces who betrayed him with impeachments, false accusations and malicious slanders too numerous to mention.
And most importantly, His greatest “unsung” legacy before the Lord might very well be how, during his four years in office, his administration EXPOSED the deep corruption and globalist agendas that have been accumulating in Washington D.C over the last 40 years.
So, if God raised up President Trump to shine a light and become a beacon of hope in the world during this time in history … what happened? How come God has not chosen to continue to shine brightly through four more years of his “Cyrus-like” leader?
We will attempt to bring some clarity to that question in our next article … having laid, in this brief space, a sure foundation concerning the absolute sovereignty of Almighty God.
