THE SIGN OF HIS COMING

 INTRODUCTION

By way of introduction, let us first state that it is not our intention in this article to cross every “t” and dot every “i” concerning the timeline of the last days and subsequent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that certain “revelations” in the Book of Revelation and the Book of Daniel are sealed up until the time of the end.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Daniel 12:4)

“Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”  (Daniel 12:4,9)

However, observing the condition of the present day world, it appears that we are now in the time of  the end, so these words should begin to progressively “open up” as we approach the final culmination of end-time events. Hence, we believe that a brief overview of Biblical commentary concerning the end is not only possible, but beneficial in establishing a more accurate view of the last days.  Also, no individual possesses a complete timeline of the last days  … and that includes us. So, keeping our introduction in mind, let us continue.

For the sake of readability, we have divided this particular article into five parts. Please feel free to take your time and “absorb” one part before continuing on to the next. May the Lord bless your understanding as you rely on the Holy Ghost to direct you into all truth!

.

PART ONE:  THE FIRST FOUR SEALS ARE BEING OPENED

In Part One, we need to examine the first four “Seals” in the Book of Revelation if we’re to understand what exactly is the sign of the Lord’s coming.

Much speculation has been made concerning this subject: blood moons, wars, tsunamis, earthquakes, weather phenomenon, UFO sightings, financial distress and numerous other global catastrophes. And all of these are certainly signs that we’re in the last days and should serve as a warning to all believers that we need to take heed and spiritually “gird up”!

However, all of these signs are NOT the SIGN of His coming! If we consult the scriptures, we find the disciples asking Jesus about the end times:

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Matthew 24:3)

Notice they asked Jesus what the “sign” (singular) of his coming would be, not “signs” (plural). And Jesus himself confirms it later on in the conversation:

“And then shall appear the sign (singular) of the Son of man in heaven:” (Matthew 24:30)

So, we know from the scriptures and Jesus’ own words two things about the sign of his coming:

  1. The “sign” is singular (that is, specific) and…
  2. The “sign” appears in heaven, not on the earth (as in global catastrophes, etc)

Are you getting curious yet? Well, in order to discover this scriptural nugget, we will have to dig a little deeper and compare Matthew 24 with Revelation 6!

These two chapters of the bible are not only comparable in their content, but also can be read chronologically. We will begin our comparison in Matthew 24 immediately after the disciples asked him about the sign of his coming and the end of the world:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5)

Notice right off that Jesus prefaces his discourse with a warning to his disciples not to be deceived. Basically, he’s exhorting them to pay attention to what HE has to say and not be deceived by what MAN has to say! So, he begins:

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” (Matthew 24:6)

Have you heard of wars and rumors of wars? YES! But the end is not yet because some things need to happen first that are in their beginning stages right now! The next thing that Jesus says is very important to us in these last days because it is packed full of information, albeit in just a few words:

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” (Matthew 24:7)

Whether one realizes it or not, the Lord has just covered in Matthew 24:4-7 the opening of the first four seals written about in Revelation 6. Let’s compare, beginning with the first seal:

Matthew 24:5-6   “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Revelation 6:2    “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

Now understand, the four horsemen referred to in Revelation 6 are not physical men. What is commonly referred to as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse represent spiritual powers which bring about events on the earth through many men and circumstances.

So, in the above verses, we have a definite reference of the earth being filled with a “conquering” spirit by one in authority on a white horse. In other words, many deceiving false Christs (both politically, militarily, and religiously worldwide) will begin to rule in the hearts of men; and, eventually, this will pave the way for an Antichrist who will position himself to become the Man of Sin! This is happening now!

Continuing on to the second seal:

Matthew 24:6    “For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom…”

Revelation 6:4    “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

The “red horse” has the power to take peace from the earth resulting in nations and kingdoms turning against one another and killing one another. This is also happening now! The current events in the Middle East (Israel/Palestine, ISIS, Iraq) and the world (US/Russia … Ukraine) are just the beginning.

The third seal:

Matthew 24:6    “…and there shall be famines”

Revelation 6:5-6   “And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

Most bible scholars agree that these verses in Revelation 6 refer to famine and we have no reason to dispute it. If you research the number of famines taking place throughout the Third World today, it becomes obvious that this seal is taking place right now!

Matthew 24:6    “…and there shall be … pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

Revelation 6:7      “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

Revelation 6:8     “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

Now granted, the wording is not precise between Matthew 24:6 and Revelation 6:7-8. Part of the reason for this is there’s a large portion of the fourth seal that just hasn’t happened yet. When viewed from a broader perspective, a lot is taking place in the the world during this seal. It involves a transition from antichrist to the Man of Sin. We’ll cover this transition later on in this article.

But when viewed in its’ entirety, it’s obvious that “death”, “pestilence”, “earthquakes”, “hunger” and being killed by the “beasts of the earth” and the “sword” share a common trait of destruction! Just a simple, world-wide financial collapse could initiate some of these catastrophes within days of one another! If one considers the recent Ebola outbreaks and flu epidemics … the militarization of many countries … and the strange phenomenon going on in the earth … an outbreak of Death on a quarter of the world’s population is not far-fetched!

Hence, we believe as Jesus stated:

All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:8)

Every aspect of  Revelation 6:2-8 and Matthew 24:4-7 is in operation to some degree or another at this present time. Some aspects have progressed more, and others are just getting started. But they will all continue to progress at their own rate until they reach their “boiling point” of fulfillment. When that happens, the essence of the fifth seal will be unleashed and the mettle of every sincere Christian on earth will be tested of what sort it is!

.

PART TWO: THE FIFTH SEAL TO BE OPENED SOON

To cut through a lot of “red tape” and to be unpleasantly blunt, the fifth seal concerns one subject … MARTYRDOM!

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:” (Revelation 6:9)

“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” (Revelation 6:10)

“And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Revelation 6:11)

This absolutely correlates to the very next thing that Jesus warned the disciples about in Matthew 24:8:

Then (after the beginning of sorrows) shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” (Matthew 24:9)

Do you see the progression? We are in the ”beginning of sorrows” right now … some more, some less! But one thing is for certain, these sorrows are going to continue to escalate upon the earth until the true Christians become HATED BY ALL NATIONS for Jesus’ name’s sake! Then those Christians will be delivered up for a testimony (Ref: SHEMA). The only way to “endure” these things is not by hiding, but by being PREPARED! (Ref: THE ARK)

So, what initiates this great hatred of Christians worldwide? It is the appearance of the abomination of desolation! Or, in other words, the man of sin taking up his seat of authority in the earth! It will be Satan himself possessing the flesh and blood body of the Antichrist who, by this time,  will have become the leader of a united, world-wide system. The apostle John saw this system in a vision as a “beast”:

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Revelation 13:1)

This beast is a world system made up of ten kings. And we know from scripture that out of one the horns of this kingdom will rise up another little horn (the Antichrist) conquering three of the original horns in the process. This was shown to Daniel in a dream and subsequently interpreted by an angel:

“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and … it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. (Daniel 7:7)

“I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots:” (Daniel 7:8)

This was the angel’s interpretation:

“And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. (Daniel 7:24)

Now, concerning the beast itself:

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (Revelation 13:2)

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (Revelation 13:4)

In other words, in worshipping the visual beast, the world will be actually worshipping the invisible dragon … Satan … who spiritually gives power unto the beast! This is the same promise that Satan tempted Jesus with in the wilderness (but Jesus refused):

“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” (Matthew 4:8-9)

But there IS coming an individual who WILL accept Satan’s offer! This individual will be the Antichrist. When the Antichrist accepts Satan’s “offer”, he will then become “demon possessed” by Satan himself! Satan will then become incarnate upon the earth … proclaiming himself to be God and demand worship from every living person on planet earth! This is the “abomination of desolation” spoken of by Daniel the prophet! This is the “man of sin” referred to in 2Thessalonians 2:3:

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

NOTE: It’s kind of like Judas. Jesus referred to him as a “devil” even as he chose him to be one of the original twelve disciples (John 6:70). Jesus knew that Judas would end up betraying him. But Judas, as a “devilish” man, didn’t actually fulfill his role as the “betrayer” of Christ until Satan “entered into him”. When this happened, Judas became demon-possessed by Satan himself (John 13:18-27)! It will be the same way with the Antichrist. As a man, the Antichrist will continue as a human leader of a ten-horned system (and maybe, for a time, as a “little horn”) until the time comes that he accepts Satan’s offer. When he does, he will become demon-possessed by Satan himself and be revealed as the man of sin! And, as such, he will fulfill his role … just as Judas did.

When this happens, the beast, which has been functioning as a world-wide system, will obtain a singular voice. And that singular voice will be Satan himself operating by and through the voice of the newly-revealed man of sin!

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (Revelation 13:5)

“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.” (Revelation 13:6)

And not only so, but…

“…it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” (Revelation 13:6)

Did you catch that? It’s very important that you do or you will not be prepared for the things that are coming upon the earth in these last days! That “war with the saints” is yet to take place and, as saints, we will be called upon through the power of the Holy Ghost to be end time witnesses for Jesus’ name’s sake! But only those whose names are already written in the Lamb’s Book of Life:

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (Satan, the man of sin) whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:7)

This is the scenario that Christians are heading into! Unfortunately, while many Christians have been exhorted by the Word of God to be “awake” and “watch unto prayer”,  a vast majority have been lulled to sleep by a false “fable” of a pre-tribulation rapture. This doctrine was not held by the first church in the Book of Acts. It has only been in the last one hundred years that this teaching has garnered such widespread attention and acceptance. But this is a topic for another article.

.

PART THREE: THE GREAT TRIBULATION DEFINED

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) … then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains” (Matthew 24:15-16)

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21)

The reason they are to flee, is the man of sin has been “revealed” according to 2Thessalonians 2: 1-4, and will now institute his dominion over all nations, kindreds and tongues … beginning at Jerusalem.

Understanding this event is especially crucial for end-time Christians:

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,” (2Thessalonians 2:1)

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” (2Thessalonians 2:3)

“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (2Thessalonians 2:4)

Now notice, according to the above verses, that two things happen before the “coming of our Lord” and “our gathering together unto him”.

  1. There’s a great falling away first … and
  2. That man of sin is revealed

In fact, it’s actually the man of sin that induces the “falling away”, because it is the man of sin, not God, which will be responsible for the time of great tribulation upon the earth.

Notice also that the phrase “great tribulation” is not a “title”, as in: The Great Tribulation! This may seem like a small point; but, the truth is, using this phrase as a “title” gives this time period nuances and connotations that have caused false teachings and fables surrounding it. It conjures up visions of “rapture” and being “left behind” to suffer great torments from the wrath of God as he pours out his vials on the earth. This is simply NOT TRUE!

Just remember this:

The “great tribulation” as taught by Jesus to his disciples is a time period associated with the revealing of the man of sin! It is not  an event that lasts over an extended period of seven years!

Also, this “great tribulation” is not the “wrath of God” being poured out. It is a time of tribulations, persecutions, afflictions and temptations which will come upon the world to “try” the Word of God in the hearts of Christians (and also to cause non-Christians to worship the Beast):

“Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.” (Matthew 13:18)

“Behold, a sower went forth to sow;” (Matthew 13:3)

“The seed is the word of God.” (Luke 8:11)

“But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.” (Matthew 13:20-21)

“And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.” (Mark 4:16-17)

“They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation  FALL AWAY.” (Luke 8:13)

The “great tribulation” is simply a time of testing (brought about by Satan) in an attempt to coerce Christians to “fall away” or “apostatize” from their faith.

At the same time, it will also provide the means by which the man of sin will pressure all nations, kindreds and tongues to accept the mark of Beast and worship his image:

“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (Revelation 13:7)

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16-17)

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:4)

This is the meaning of the time of “great tribulation” spoken of by Jesus Christ! But as you take heed to these sayings … don’t be discouraged, because Jesus said:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

.

PART FOUR: THE FUTURE OPENING OF THE SIXTH SEAL

Now that we have defined what Jesus meant by great tribulation, let’s see what happens next:

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” (Matthew 24:9)

As much hype that has gone on in Christians circles recently concerning blood moons and other celestial phenomenon, God’s Word still holds the preeminence! And His Word declares that these events will not happen until AFTER the great tribulation that will try the world and His saints! Let that soak in for a moment.

We can choose to believe God’s Word, or we can choose to believe the words of ministers who make millions of dollars writing books that top the New York Best Seller’s List!

Now compare Matthew 24:9 with Revelation 6:12-13.

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;” (Revelation 6:12)

“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.” (Revelation 6:13)

Ah-h-h … the beauty of God’s Word! A perfect match!

So, here in the sixth Seal, we have a direct correlation to the instructions that Jesus Christ gave to his disciples … which is namely this:

Immediately after the tribulation of those days:

  1. The “sun shall be darkened”“black as sackcloth”
  2. The “moon shall not give her light”“became as blood”
  3. The “stars shall fall from heaven”“fell unto the earth”
  4. The “powers of heaven shall be shaken”“even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind”

What could be plainer and simpler to understand? And, according to God’s Word, all of these things happen after the time of great tribulation.

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:” (Matthew 24:32)

“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” (Matthew 24:33)

What’s at the “doors”? Why the Lord’s return, of course!

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:31)

Here is “the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto him” as written in 2Thessalonians 2:1!

Here is the real “rapture” of the saints!

The 7th Chapter of Revelation totally confirms this:

“And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.” (Revelation 7:1)

“… till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” (Revelation 7:3)

“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” (Revelation 7:4)

In Chapter 7, the “four winds” have accomplished two things:

  1. They have just finished “gathering together God’s elect”
  2. They have “sealed” the 144,000 out of the twelve tribes of Israel

Now, read carefully the final confirmation that the Word of God gives concerning the “gathering of the saints”:

“After this (the sealing of the 144,000) I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;” (Revelation 7:9)

“And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:10)

If you’re still not convinced, then listen to the following dialogue:

“And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?” (Revelation 7:13)

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:14)

“Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.” (Revelation 7:15)

“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.” (Revelation 7:16)

“For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:17)

Isn’t God’s Word wonderful?

.

PART FIVE: THE SINGULAR SIGN OF HIS COMING

Yes! There is still one more sign of Christ’s return … and it is “singular”!

There is a sign that will occur in heaven that is the one and only true sign of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very “specific”!

To find out what this sign is, we have to return to Matthew 24:

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” (Matthew 24:29)

All of the above signs are telling the “watchful” Christian that the Lord’s return is “near, even at the doors”. But his return is not immediate. After all of these signs take place…

“…then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30)

When the final sign of the Lord appears in heaven, all the peoples of the earth are going to “mourn”.

Why? Because they are going to witness the coming of the Son of man coming in the clouds! Revelation 6:15-17 puts it this way:

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;” (Revelation 6:15)

“And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:” (Revelation 6:16)

Why are they so afraid? Because they see the sign of the coming of the Lord and know that…

“… the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:17)

[Notice that God’s “wrath” does not take place until after the Lord returns]

Did you notice something else?

When Jesus was answering the disciples’ question concerning the “sign” of his coming in Matthew 24:30, he just said…

“…THEN shall appear the sign…”

In other words, he told them “when” the sign of his coming would take place (i.e “then”), but he didn’t tell them “what” the sign of his coming would be! He just said “then” … referring to a time after all of the other signs listed in Matthew 24:29 had taken place! Interesting, huh?

To find out the “what”, we have to go back to Revelation 6:15.

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;” (Revelation 6:15)

Why are they hiding? Because they SEE something happening in heaven!

What do they see?

The same thing that every Christian at the time should be “watching” for:

The “sign” of his coming taking place in heaven!

What is that “sign”?

Revelation 6:14 gives us the explicit answer:

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together;” (Revelation 6:14)

This is the sign of the coming of the Lord. This is what the nations shall see and cause them to “mourn” and “hide themselves”, all the while crying out to the rocks to “fall” on them!

But for the Christian, it’s will be God’s sign in the heaven of our imminent deliverance from the man of sin, and our immediate “catching away” to meet the Lord in the air to forever with him in glory! Oh, Hallelujah!

The immediate effect of this on the planet itself will be a tremendous earthquake!

“…and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” (Revelation 6:14)

As it is written even in the Old Testament:

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.” (Isaiah 14:9)

So, in conclusion…

“…we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.” 2Thessalonians 2:1-2)

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” (2Thessalonians 2:3)

“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (2Thessalonians 2:7)

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (2Thessalonians 2:8)

“Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” (2Thessalonians 2:16-17)

Even so, come soon Lord Jesus! Amen!
