THIS ARTICLE CONTINUES FROM: THERE’S A FLOOD COMING
In the spiritual flood of darkness which is coming shortly on the face of this earth, Christians are going to need a spiritual Ark wherein they can “escape” and abide safely in the light! We’ll talk more about this “light” in a moment. For now, let’s take another look at Noah.
The Word of God declares that:
“… Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” (Genesis 6:8)
So God instructed him to build an Ark so that he would be kept safely from the time of the flood. And Noah believed the Word of warning that came unto him:
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;” (Hebrews 11:7)
As Christians living in the last days, we also need to be “moved with fear” … not a dreadful fear of coming events … but a reverential fear of the Word of God concerning the end times! He’s warning us now just as he did Noah!
It took Noah 100 years to complete the Ark. And when it was finished, the Lord said to Noah:
“Come thou and all thy house into the ark;” (Gen 7:1)
“For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” (Genesis 7:4)
“And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.” (Genesis 7:5)
“And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.” (Genesis 7:10)
“In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;” (Genesis 7:13)
Now, notice this small but very significant detail:
“… and the Lord shut him in.” (Genesis 7:16)
That’s right … Noah didn’t “lock the door behind him” or “seal everything up”! NO! GOD shut him in! The Lord himself SEALED the DOOR! And it’s going to be the very same way in these last days … Christ, by the Spirit, is going to shut and seal the DOOR to the Ark. And when that happens, no man will be able to open it!
“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.” (Matthew 25:1)
“And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.” (Matthew 25:2)
“They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:” (Matthew 25:3)
You see, the foolish virgins wiled away their time doing everything except seeking the Lord in the Word and Prayer! They thought they were going to get “raptured” out before suffering one tingle of testing! So, as a result, the Holy Ghost was not active in their day-to-day affairs. They had their lamps (the Word of God), but no oil to enlighten or quicken that Word to their hearts. It was easier just to believe and do what their apostle, prophet, pastor or mega-church TV evangelist said. In other words, they enjoyed with “tickling ears” all the entertaining “fables” that were fed to them by men, instead of taking seriously the words of our Lord Jesus Christ as recorded in the scriptures!
“But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” (Matthew 25:4)
Those “vessels” are the hearts of the wise saints who “redeemed the time” because the days were evil. In other words, they knew midnight was coming and prepared themselves by seeking the Lord! They heeded the call to grow close to the Lord …
“…lest at any time (their) hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon (them) unawares.” (Luke 21:34)
Now look what happened in the parable … and what is going to happen in real life:
“And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.” (Matthew 25:6-8)
“But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.” (Matthew 25:9)
In effect, the “wise” were telling the “unwise” that they had labored for their oil … so it was precious to them … they weren’t going to just give it away. And being precious, it was in short supply! The wise didn’t have the TIME necessary to bring the unwise “up to speed” in their spiritual growth. So, they counseled them to “go to them that sell and buy for themselves”:
And who are these men that sell to the “unwise” virgins? Well, you should know the answer to that!
THEY ARE ALL OF THE MODERN-DAY MERCHANDISERS WHO PERVERT THE WORD OF GOD TO FLEECE GOD’S SHEEP AND LEAD THEM ASTRAY!
So, go ahead, the wise will say to the unwise … hurry up and go “buy for yourselves” some more DVD’s … listen to some more of their fables … send them some more money … maybe they’ll prophesy over you for filthy lucre’s sake! You might get enough oil to get by on! The trouble is, you’re going to run out of time!
And know this:
When the flood of darkness comes, those evil merchandisers will be nowhere to be found! They’ll all run home to their worldly mansions that the “unwise virgins” helped pay for and try to hide themselves away from the gross darkness which will be covering the earth!
Continuing on…
“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and THE DOOR WAS SHUT.” (Matthew 25:10)
That’s right … just like in the days of Noah … so shall it be in the days of the coming of the son of man! God’s going to shut those that are ready in with Himself! Christ is the Ark!
“Then once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; … he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:” (Luke 13:25)
Let’s hear what the glorified Lord has to say:
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, … he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; (Revelation 3:7)
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8)
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience…” (Revelation 3:10)
In other words, because you have studied to show yourself approved unto God and have endured with patience the horrendous trials that have come your way … trials which have tested your faith in the Lord like fire purifies gold …
“I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” (Revelation 3:10)
That’s why the Lord counsels the Laodicean church to:
“… buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich;” (Revelation 3:18)
Now is the time to purchase gold tried in the midst of fiery trials (not houses, cars and such like). Now is the time to purchase the precious oil of the Holy Ghost by having an intimate relationship with Christ and obeying His words and not those of man. Now is the time to have our lamps lit (the Word of God quickened in our hearts) and our vessels, as temples of the living God, filled and sealed with the oil of the Holy Ghost!
That’s what it is to enter into the Ark, my friends! And when the flood of darkness comes, the Lord will shut the door of your heart, mind and soul in with Himself and …
“… keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world…” (Revelation 3:18)
